McArthur Properties strives to provide our tenants and their patrons with first class and well kept office and retail environments. We pride ourselves in being owner-operators of our entire portfolio which we believe shows in the manner in which we maintain our assets. Utilizing a very ‘hands-on’ approach, our seasoned property management and leasing staff provide outstanding customer relations through teamwork and prompt responsiveness to all of our tenants’ needs. It is the combination of this ownership and management philosophy that affords us a competitive advantage in today’s dynamic real estate market.
Our Grandfather, J.D. McArthur, moved to Goldsboro in the early 1920’s and formed McArthur Lumber Company. Our Father, P.H. McArthur, II, started McArthur Rentals in 1950, building houses and apartments to sell and rent. He also bought warehouses to rent and had a large commercial dairy and farming operation. McArthur Rentals has evolved into McArthur Properties and is now owned by Helen McArthur Jernigan and her husband Randall and Pat McArthur, III and his wife Michelle. We feel blessed to be able to continue this legacy of McArthur Properties for years to come.
Pat graduated from Oak Ridge Military Academy in 1966 and then graduated from Campbell University in 1970. He was a loan officer with American Savings and Loan for ten years until he left to work more closely with his Father and Sister. Today, he assists the company in any area needed with an emphasis on marketing, finance and leasing.
Rhonda joined our staff in 2008 as our office manager. She assists potential and existing tenants with rental information, maintenance requests and other property management items. The company bookkeeping is a large part of her responsibilities. She obtained her Marketing and Retailing degree from Wayne Community College and gained bookkeeping experience from working for the Army and Air Force Exchange Service overseas and also from an accounting firm.
Helen has been with McArthur Properties since 1981. Prior to joining the company, she graduated with a Bachelor of Science Degree from East Carolina University. Helen has spent most of her career working in real estate in different areas of the industry, including apartments, offices, retail units, rental houses and general property management. Today, she is active in her community, especially First Presbyterian Church, where she is a member.
